Since 1990, Osage Ventures, has invested in early stage technology and healthcare companies in the Mid-Atlantic region with a demonstrated top-decile performance. Our current fund, Osage Venture Partners II, L.P., is a $40MM fund which began investing in 2005. We seek to invest in determined and creative entrepreneurs who have a unique concept or product at an early stage of the product lifecycle. Osage works closely with entrepreneurs and assists them in building high growth businesses with consistent revenue streams. Building value is of primary importance to Osage, and we will invest the necessary time and capital to grow a business, irrespective of the future exit date. Osage has funded companies across a broad range of industries, many of which became publicly traded entities or critical components of larger enterprises.
Osage Ventures will often lead or co-lead investment syndicates. We favor investment opportunities primarily located in the Northeast corridor that are seeking their first round of institutional capital. We will invest $2.5MM - $5MM in each company throughout its developmental life, although smaller investments may be made in special situations. Our early stage efforts are focused on information and enabling technology and the life sciences/healthcare industries.
Despite the current economic climate, we are actively investing in promising companies. Our view is that businesses built today will exit this market stronger and more resilient and will be positioned for exit in a future up-cycle environment. Any entrepreneur should bring a realistic understanding and appreciation of the current economic environment to any discussion.
